You’ve produced the greatest work of modding art ever created. But every time you take a photo it comes out looking like the back end of a bus? Check out our tips below and find out how to do justice to your creation:
Your mod will look best against a neutral background that highlights colours and makes it stand out. This could be a piece of coloured card or just a simple white sheet of paper. Alternatively, if you’ve gone with a themed mod then how about theming the background of the shot as well? If you’ve done a cow-hide paint job on your phone, find some grass to put it on to make the photo really come alive. Making the background part of the mod may not work for everyone, but could give you an edge.
To give your mod the best chance of winning, make sure that people can see it in the best light possible. When you take your photos, make sure you have a good source of natural light available. Sunlight will bring out the colours better than if you take a picture indoors under artificial lighting. Also, if you use a flash then you’re likely to get glare from the shiny phone surface. Try and avoid the flash so we can see as much of your fantastic mod as possible.
You’ve got the option to enter 2 photos of each mod you create. This could be the front and back, it could be your mod from a distance and a close up, the choice is yours. Show off the best bits and give people a tour of your creation.
Good luck with your modding, we can’t wait to see it.
